Fluffy Cheese Balls
45 minutes
Light, cheesy, delicious.
Ingredients
200 ml | milk 3,5 % |
100 m | leukewarm water |
20 g | fresh yeast |
1,5 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | sugar |
60 ml | oil |
520 g | flour |
250 g | grated gouda |
1 tbsp | butter |
1 | garlic clove |
sth. | chopped parsley |
1 | egg yolk |
Preparation
In a bowl, combine the lukewarm milk, lukewarm water, sugar, and fresh yeast. Then add the oil, salt, and flour, and knead everything into a smooth dough for at least 5 minutes. Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
Form walnut-sized balls from the dough and place a teaspoon of grated cheese in the center of each ball. Then, close the balls again so that the cheese is enclosed in the middle.
Place the dough balls on a baking sheet and let them rest, covered, for another 20 minutes.
Beat the egg yolk and brush it over the dough balls.
The cheese balls are now placed in the preheated oven at 200°C (top and bottom heat) for about 20-25 minutes, until they are golden brown. The exact baking time may vary, so keep an eye on them.
While the balls are still in the oven, combine the melted butter, chopped garlic, and parsley. Brush the still warm cheese balls with the garlic-parsley butter, and you're done! Now you can enjoy the fluffy cheese balls.
