Marble Cake
30 minutes
The perfect blend of chocolate and vanilla.
Ingredients
4 | eggs |
200 g | soft butter |
240 g | milk |
250g | sugar |
350 g | flour |
5 tbsp | Cocoa |
1,5 packs | Baking powder |
1 pack | vanilla sugar |
1 pinch | salt |
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius fan. Place an ovenproof dish with a little lukewarm water in the oven (at the bottom).
In a mixer, beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy. Then add the milk and continue to mix.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt and add to the wet mixture. Add the softened butter and mix to a smooth dough.
In another bowl, mix 5 tablespoons of milk with cocoa to make the chocolate mixture.
Divide the cake batter into two halves. One half remains light, while the other half is mixed with the cocoa and milk mixture. Line a loaf tin with baking paper. Then alternately place a large spoonful of the light-colored batter and the chocolate batter in the middle of the tin. Repeat this process until the batter is used up, creating a beautiful marble pattern.
Bake the cake for 35 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 150 degrees and bake for a further 15 minutes. Use a skewer test to check whether the cake is done. Leave the fluffy marble cake to cool thoroughly, cut and enjoy!
