Crumbly Streusel Cookies

Soft cookies with a crunchy streusel topping.

Ingredients

400gflour
1/2 yeast
60g sugar
1 pinch of salt
150ml milk
50g butter
1 egg
50g cold butter
40 sugar
90g flour
2tbspn. milk
50g currants

Preparation

For the yeast dough, mix milk, yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Place all other ingredients in a bowl. Then add the milk-yeast mixture and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let the dough rise for about 45 minutes.

To make the crumble dough, mix all the ingredients together to create a crumbly dough.

After the rising time, the yeast dough is divided into 6 pieces and rolled into balls. The balls are formed into small flat cakes and placed on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush the flatbreads with a little milk.

The currants and the prepared sprinkles are then distributed on top.

The thalers are then baked in a preheated oven at 180 degrees top and bottom heat for about 15-20 minutes. The tTalers shouldn't get too dark!

Allow to cool completely after baking. Finally, dust with powdered sugar and serve.
